The Pittsburgh Symphony has cancelled its February 2013 tour to the Florida cities of Miami, Sarasota, West Palm Beach and Gainesville. James Wilkinson, CEO, announced that the tour deficit and the inability to acquire sponsorship makes the tour impossible to perform. Bill Zlatos of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review reported that symphony officials have stated that the continual annual deficits means “…the PSO is facing the most critical challenge in recent history.”
Orchestra subscribers who purchased tickets as part of their subscription will receive a refund.
